OBI Peru

Nick Balcombe joined Operation Blessing as the National Director for Peru in April 2008.

Before joining OBI, Nick worked with a local church, Camino de Vida for two years helping lead community development outreach teams of people in low-income areas of Peru. Through the church, Nick linked arms with OBI to help build outreach programs and spearheaded the Living Water Project, which helps install wells and provides portable water for thousands of people.

In 2007, Nick volunteered with OBI as the Community Development Director. During that time he oversaw the installation of water filtration systems, microenterprise projects and the development of family farms.

That same year, Nick also partnered with OBI to help bring disaster relief supplies to victims following a massive earthquake in Peru, where he played a critical role in the organization of relief efforts for affected communities.

Nick graduated from San Diego Christian College in 2004 with a Bachelor in interdisciplinary Studies. After serving two years as the young adult pastor for Sonrise Community Church, he moved to Peru.

Nick currently lives in Lima, Peru, with his wife Kristin and their son, Jude.
