School In Bed
Uralsk, Kazakhstan -- Biology, chemistry, English, geography, Kazakh, literature, mathematics, physics and Russian. Six students of various ages successfully studied many or all of these subjects while battling illnesses including immobilizing headaches, epilepsy, and severe flu. They accomplished the school year with the aid of dedicated tutors and Operation Blessing's Bless-A-Child program.
Depressed, Sana sat in her bed wondering what her fourth grade class was doing. Much had happened in ten weeks since she last attended school. What begun as the flu, had escalated into the 10-year-old girl developing severe complications with her kidneys. Now out of danger, Sana had been released from the hospital to complete the recovery process. Doctors said she could return to school next term, but until then there was allot to catch up on!
After the hospital bills, Zhanna and her husband didn't have any extra money for a teacher to tutor Sana. To add to the problem, School #17's funding recently had been significantly reduced cutting out any hope of adequate tutoring. Even with the cut funding, the school was required by law to provide education for Sana and five other homebound children. Hearing about School #17 dilemma, Operation Blessing's outreach center Emmanuel Mission was able to support this tutoring program through the Bless-A-Child program! Through this help, teachers were able to spend more quality time on the important subjects with the students.
Excited about life again, Sana was able to finish the fourth grade along with her class and is not going to be afraid to attend school next year. "Thanks for the additional hours given by teachers," shared Zhanna. "Our daughter was able to catch up with the program. Each class is such a joy."
T. Rudich, the director of School #17 expressed, "From all our heart we wish you and your team health, prosperity and all the successes in your noble labor. People need your work so much!"
"The teachers, students and parents are very grateful to you for your charity work," continued vice-director, N. Maltzeva.
Thank you Operation Blessing partners. Your faithful support has once again brought joy to those in need determined to have a better future. Please don't stop!
