2004 - Relief and recovery efforts helped an estimated
261,075 people to Hurricane Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne survivors
2003 - Assisted the Iraqi people with medical care, medicine
and food relief.
2002 - Beginning in the fall of 2001, OBI fed countless
Afghan refugees, and now continues to assist these war ravaged people build
their lives through continued hunger relief, medical assistance and construction
projects.
2001 - In response to September 11th's terrorist attacks on New York's World Trade Center, OBI's Hunger Strike Force partnered with FEMA by providing tractor-trailers and networking 81 truckloads of relief aid to victims and volunteers. HSF also brought in an additional 13 truckloads of food and relief supplies.
Since 1992, 556.7 million pounds of food and relief supplies
have been distributed to people in need.
In 2000, OBI worked with numerous humanitarian organizations in rushing to assist thousands of flood victims in Mozambique with more than 5.1 million pounds of donated supplies and food.
In the last decade alone, OBI has provided relief to millions of disaster victims including those communities destroyed by the Kobe earthquake and Oklahoma City bombing in 1995 as well as those affected by hurricanes Bonnie, George and Mitch in 1998.
Bringing assistance to the victims of Hurricane Andrew in 1992 was OBI's first disaster relief response.
